Hi! I’m an experienced GCSE and A-Level tutor with over 3 years of experience teaching students both in person and remotely. I studied Medicine at Bristol Medical School after achieving A*s across all my GCSE and A-Level subjects, with 96% in Biology, 93% in Chemistry, 96% in Physics and 97% in Maths. I know first-hand what it takes to achieve top grades, but also what it feels like when something just doesn’t click. That’s a big part of my approach to tutoring. I don’t believe there is one way to teach a topic — I adapt my explanations to the individual student and find the way of presenting a concept that makes it click for them. I focus on building a genuinely strong foundation before moving on, rather than simply teaching students how to memorise content. I also put a strong emphasis on exam technique. Having been through these exams myself, I understand the importance of recognising patterns, knowing what examiners are looking for, using the right terminology and learning how to pick up every mark available. One-to-one tutoring can also make a huge difference to a student's confidence. Having someone who understands the pressure of exams, has been through the process themselves and can closely track their individual progress provides a much more personalised support system than a typical classroom environment. Most importantly, I want students to leave lessons feeling that they can do it. I’ve seen students make dramatic improvements in both their grades and confidence through tutoring, and helping students reach that point is what I find most rewarding.
