About me

Hi, my name is Adam and I am doing an MA in National Security Studies at King's College London. For my undergraduate degree I studied War Studies and History at King's College London. I am an engaging tutor who is keen to improve my students assessment and grade performance. I aim to make my sessions enjoyable and valuable. I remember what it was like to be an A-Level and GCSE student and so I aim to make every session impactful. My main strength is my passion and enthusiasm for the subjects that I teach. I love Politics and History because through learning it you can really understand the world around you. I hope that I can help students improve by teaching the key facts and figures that are crucial to success. Whilst, exam technique is really important it will only go so far having the key information to have things to write about in an exam or an assignment is where I can come in by using fun ways to remember information by using quirky images or analogies which might seem silly at the time but are really memorable. Away from the classroom I love trains, music and learning about history and current affairs. I am also a huge supporter of my local football team. I find that I am able to get my passions into everything that I do and I hope that I can use a student's existing passions to drive them forward in a given subject. I have developed a successful approach to ensure my sessions stay focused and structured. My students have told me that they have found this to be very helpful. I aim to achieve successful outcomes through ensuring that all lessons are always geared to what will come up in an exam. Once all of the course has been covered, I would then look at past papers to see how all the hard work done gets converted into actual exam responses. I will help students achieve their goals by boosting their confidence knowing that they know the information needed to do well. Encouraging learning is of course important because knowledge is 50% and mindset is 50% so having a mastery of both can almost guarantee success.
